About this release
STAAD.Pro is one of the long standing structural analysis packages, and it covers the whole span from building a model to producing the calculation report an engineer signs. Frames, trusses, plates, solids and cable structures are all modelled in the same environment, and the solver handles static, dynamic, seismic, wind, thermal and nonlinear cases from one model rather than requiring a separate setup for each.
The design side is what separates an analysis package from a solver. Once the model resolves, member design runs against the code the project is governed by, and the software carries a large collection of international and regional codes for steel, concrete, timber, aluminium and cold formed sections. Members are checked, ratios reported, and failing sections can be resized and rechecked without leaving the results view.
Load handling is thorough in the way structural work demands. Load cases combine according to code defined rules rather than by hand, moving loads run across bridge decks, response spectra and time history cases handle seismic work, and wind loading generates from the governing code against the model geometry. Every combination is traceable back to the rule that produced it, which is what makes the output defensible in review.
Output is built for the document that has to leave the office. Reports assemble from selected results with tables, diagrams and model views, and export runs to spreadsheets and to the documentation formats a project archive expects. Interoperability with the wider modelling ecosystem means geometry arrives from and returns to the building model rather than being redrawn.

Install order
- Unpack the archive to a short path.
- Install the bundled prerequisite runtime components first if the installer asks.
- Run the main installer and allow the code packs to deploy.
- Open the application once and set the default code and unit system for the office.
Worth knowing before you start
Code and unit defaults should be set before modelling starts, not partway through.
Large plate models benefit substantially from additional memory rather than a faster processor.
