About this release

Lumion turns an architectural model into a presentation image without the setup that a general purpose renderer demands. Import the model, drop it into a landscape, place materials, set the sun and the weather, and the viewport is already showing something close to the final result. The distance between opening the file and having something to show a client is measured in hours rather than days.

The content library is a large part of what you are getting. Thousands of trees, plants, people, vehicles, furniture pieces and material definitions, all built to render efficiently, so a scene fills out convincingly without sourcing and optimising assets from elsewhere. People and vehicles animate for video output.

The Pro edition raises the ceiling on everything. The full library rather than a subset, higher output resolutions, longer video sequences, panoramic and virtual reality output, and the effects stack that covers depth of field, reflections, volumetric light and colour grading on the render rather than in post.

Output covers stills, video, panoramas and interactive presentations. Renders are fast because the engine is real time, so a client revision that would have meant an overnight render on a traditional path tracer comes back in minutes.

Install order

1. Check free disk space before unpacking, since the content library is very large.
2. Update the graphics driver first.
3. Run the installer and let the content library unpack completely.
4. Open a sample scene to confirm the graphics card is being used before importing your own model.
