About this release
Enscape is a rendering engine that lives inside the modelling application rather than beside it. Install it and a toolbar appears in Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, ArchiCAD or Vectorworks. Press the button and a rendered window opens next to the model, updating live as the model changes. There is no export, no scene setup and no waiting.
That live link is the whole point. A wall moves in the model and it moves in the render at the same moment, which means design decisions can be made while looking at a realistic image rather than at wireframe geometry. For client meetings it means changes happen in the room instead of being noted for later.
Material and lighting work is deliberately simple. Materials map from the host application and are refined in a small editor, daylight follows a location and time slider, and artificial lighting comes from the fixtures already placed in the model. The asset library adds furniture, vegetation, people and vehicles that drop straight into the scene.
Output covers stills, panoramas, video paths and standalone executables that a client can walk through on their own machine without any software installed. Virtual reality output works with the common headsets straight from the same viewport.
What it does
- Live linked viewport
- The render updates as the model changes, with no export step.
- Runs inside the host application
- Toolbars in the major architectural modelling applications.
- Asset library
- Furniture, vegetation, people and vehicles placed directly in the scene.
- Daylight and artificial light
- Sun position by location and time, plus fixtures from the model itself.
- Standalone walkthroughs
- Export a file a client can explore without installing anything.
- Virtual reality output
- Headset support from the same viewport with no separate setup.
Changed in this version
- Faster rendering on current generation graphics cards.
- Improved material handling on imported geometry.
- New assets added to the bundled library.
- Better performance in very large scenes with dense vegetation.
- Video path editing reworked with clearer keyframe control.
System requirements
| Processor | 3 GHz or faster |
|---|---|
| Memory | 16 GB minimum, 32 GB for large scenes |
| Graphics | GPU with 8 GB of dedicated memory and ray tracing support |
| Disk | 10 GB free |
| Host application | A supported version of the modelling application it plugs into |
Install order
- Close the host modelling application before installing.
- Unpack the archive and run the installer.
- Select which host applications should receive the toolbar.
- Reopen the host application and confirm the toolbar has appeared.
Worth knowing before you start
The host application must be a supported version or the toolbar will not appear.
Ray tracing capable graphics hardware makes a large difference to output quality.
