CLO Standalone

Version 2025.2.236CLO Virtual Fashion3.68 GBStandaloneRefreshed 2 weeks ago

Garment design with true cloth simulation, so a pattern is judged on a body before anything is cut.

About this release

CLO changed how garments get developed by making the sample digital. Pattern pieces are drawn flat exactly as they would be on paper, arranged around an avatar, stitched along their seam lines, and then simulated as real cloth with weight, stiffness, stretch and friction. The garment drapes, gathers, creases and falls the way the actual fabric would, so a fit problem shows up in an afternoon rather than after a sample has been cut, sewn and shipped.

The two dimensional and three dimensional views are linked continuously. Change a seam allowance, move a dart or lengthen a panel on the flat pattern and the simulated garment updates on the body as you work. That link is what makes the tool useful to a pattern cutter rather than only to a visualiser, because the thing being edited is still a real production pattern that can be graded and sent to a cutting room.

Fabric behaviour is physical rather than cosmetic. Materials carry measured properties for weight, bend, stretch and thickness, so jersey behaves like jersey and a heavy twill behaves like twill, and the same pattern in two fabrics simulates differently as it should. Fit maps show tension, pressure and ease across the garment in colour, which turns a subjective conversation about whether something is tight into a readable diagram.

The avatar is fully adjustable across measurements, posture and pose, so a garment can be checked across a size range and in motion rather than only on a standing mannequin. Rendering produces presentation images and turntables, and the output side exports patterns, measurements and specification sheets for production alongside meshes and materials for anyone taking the garment into a wider three dimensional pipeline.

What it does

Linked flat pattern and simulation
Edits to the pattern update the draped garment on the body continuously.
Physical fabric properties
Weight, bend, stretch and thickness are measured values, so different cloth behaves differently.
Fit and tension maps
Pressure, strain and ease shown in colour across the garment instead of judged by eye.
Adjustable avatars
Measurements, posture and pose adjust so fit can be checked across a size range and in motion.
Production output
Patterns, measurements and specification sheets export for the cutting room.
Presentation rendering
Images and turntables for review without moving the garment to another package.

Changed in this version

  • Faster simulation on garments with many layers and trims.
  • Improved cloth behaviour on knits and heavy weight fabrics.
  • Expanded fabric library with measured property sets.
  • Pattern editing tools reworked with better snapping and measurement display.
  • Rendering quality raised with no additional setup required.

System requirements

ProcessorIntel or AMD 64 bit, six cores or more recommended
Memory16 GB minimum, 32 GB for layered garments
GraphicsAdapter with 6 GB of dedicated memory
Disk10 GB free
Display1920 by 1080 or higher, dual displays helpful

Install order

  1. Unpack the archive to a path without accents or spaces.
  2. Run the installer and let the fabric and avatar libraries deploy.
  3. Launch once so the content caches build before opening a garment.
  4. Set the simulation quality to a lower level while patterning and raise it for final fit checks.

Worth knowing before you start

Simulation quality can be lowered while working and raised for the final check to keep editing responsive.

Patterns export in the formats a cutting room expects, so nothing has to be redrawn downstream.
