About this release

Revit LT is the architectural half of the building modelling application without the engineering disciplines attached. Walls, floors, roofs, ceilings, stairs, railings, doors, windows and curtain systems are all modelled as real building elements carrying real data, and every plan, section, elevation, schedule and sheet is a view of that single model rather than a separate drawing that has to be kept in agreement with the others.

That single model idea is the whole point and it is what changes how the work feels. Move a wall and the plan, the sections, the elevations, the room areas and the door schedule all update together, because they were never separate drawings in the first place. Coordination errors between views simply stop being a category of mistake, which on a small practice's project is the difference between a clean set and a week of checking.

Documentation is thorough. Sheets are laid out with views, title blocks and revision tracking, annotation and dimensioning are associative so they follow the elements they describe, schedules generate from the model data and can be edited directly with the changes writing back into the model, and printing or publishing a whole set runs as one job.

The LT edition is streamlined rather than crippled. It omits the structural and services disciplines, in place conceptual massing and the visual programming interface, keeping the architectural modelling, documentation and rendering that a smaller practice actually uses. Files are fully compatible with the complete edition, so a project can be shared with consultants running the full version without any conversion or loss.

System requirements

Install order

1. Unpack the archive to a folder with no spaces in the path.
2. Close any other application from the same vendor before starting.
3. Run the installer and let the content libraries deploy fully.
4. Open the application once and set the project template and units for the practice.
