About this release
AutoCAD LT is the drafting half of the full application, sold for people whose work never leaves two dimensions. Plans, elevations, sections, schematics, wiring diagrams, site layouts and shop drawings all get produced here with the same drawing engine, the same command line, the same file format and the same precision as the complete version.
What is missing is the three dimensional modelling, the rendering and the programming interfaces for custom automation. For a drafter producing drawings, none of that is part of the day. Everything that is part of the day is present: layers, blocks, external references, dynamic blocks, associative dimensioning, annotative scaling, layouts, viewports and plotting to paper or to file.
File compatibility is the reason this works in a mixed office. Drawings move in both directions with the full application and with the consultants using it, references resolve correctly, and nothing is downgraded or converted on the way through. A drawing produced here is the same drawing, not an export of one.
Sheet management covers what happens after the drawing is finished. Sheet sets collect drawings into a numbered issue, title blocks pull fields automatically, and a whole set publishes to paper or to a document format in one operation with plot styles applied consistently. Layer states, standards checking and reference management keep a long project from drifting.
What it does
- Full precision drafting
- The same drawing engine, command line and coordinate precision as the complete application.
- Blocks and external references
- Dynamic blocks, attribute extraction and referenced drawings that update across a project.
- Associative dimensioning
- Dimensions follow geometry when it changes rather than needing to be redone.
- Layouts and plotting
- Viewports, annotative scaling and plot styles for output to paper or to file.
- Sheet sets
- Collect drawings into a numbered issue and publish the whole set in one pass.
- Unmodified file format
- Drawings move both ways with the full application without conversion.
Changed in this version
- Faster opening on drawings with large numbers of external references.
- Improved hatch performance on complex boundaries.
- Sheet set publishing gains clearer progress and error reporting.
- Updated plot style handling for current printer drivers.
- Interface scaling improved on high density displays.

- Run the installer and let it place the required runtime components.
- Set the drawing template, plot styles and support file paths on first launch.
Worth knowing before you start
Custom automation routines from the full application will not load here.
Support file search paths need setting early or referenced drawings will not resolve.
