About this release
This is one image carrying three suite generations, which is exactly what a technician who rebuilds machines for several different offices wants on a stick. Rather than keeping three separate sources and remembering which one a given site standardised on, the front end asks which generation to install and then proceeds like the individual image would.
Every generation in the pack is the Professional Plus line rather than a home selection, so Access, Publisher and the complete Outlook client are present in all three. The selection screen covers generation, architecture, display language and the individual applications, so a machine ends up with exactly what the office runs and nothing else takes up disk.
The reason to keep all three rather than standardising on the newest is compatibility. Offices with a database front end built against an older Access, or a macro workbook that was written for a specific Excel generation, do not always survive a jump forward. Having the older builds on the same stick means a rollback is a reinstall rather than a hunt.
The front end also handles the ordinary housekeeping around a suite install. It detects what is currently on the machine, warns before mixing generations, and can remove an existing suite cleanly before it starts, which is the step people skip and then spend an hour undoing.
What it does
- Three generations in one image
- The 2016, 2019 and 2021 Professional Plus builds from a single source.
- Single installer front end
- Generation, architecture, language and applications chosen from one screen.
- Full Professional Plus in each
- Access, Publisher and the complete Outlook client present in all three builds.
- Existing install detection
- Warns before mixing generations and offers a clean removal first.
- Selective application install
- Only the applications an office actually uses land on disk.
- Rollback without hunting
- An older generation is a reinstall away when a macro or database needs it.
Changed in this version
- Image rebuilt with the current cumulative fixes for all three generations.
- Front end detection of existing installs made more reliable.
- Faster extraction on solid state drives.
- Language list reorganised for quicker selection.
