About this release

Acrobat Pro is the difference between viewing a PDF and actually owning it. Text edits in place with reflow, images swap out, pages reorder, merge and split, and scanned paper turns into searchable text through optical character recognition that handles multi column layouts without scrambling reading order.

Form work is the part that justifies the Pro line for most offices. Existing documents convert into fillable forms with field detection that gets most of the layout right on the first pass, calculations and validation attach to fields directly, and completed responses collect into a table that exports to a spreadsheet.

Conversion runs in every direction. PDFs export to Word, Excel and PowerPoint with layout and tables intact, and anything printable converts into PDF through a virtual printer that any application can reach. Batch actions apply the same sequence of steps across a folder of documents at once.

Review and protection round it out. Comments, stamps and markup collect from several reviewers into a single document, redaction removes content properly rather than drawing a black box over it, and documents can be locked against editing, printing or extraction with certificate or password protection.

Install order

1. Unpack the archive.
2. Uninstall Acrobat Reader first if it is present, since the two share components.
3. Run the installer to completion.
4. Open the application once and set it as the default PDF handler if you want it to be.
