W10 Digital Activation Program

Version 1.5.5.6Ratiborus6.2 MBPortableRefreshed 2 weeks ago

A single window licensing utility for desktop system installs, with a permanent digital method.

About this release

This is a very small utility that does exactly one thing and puts one button in front of you to do it. The window opens, it reads the current licensing state of the system, and it offers the digital method that writes that state permanently rather than on a renewing timer. There is no installer, no service left running, no tray icon and no configuration screen to work through, which is precisely why it stays in circulation while larger toolkits come and go.

The digital approach is what separates it from the older generation of licensing tools. Instead of a component that has to reapply itself on a schedule, the state is written once and survives restarts, driver changes, feature updates and hardware swaps within reason. The status line at the top of the window reports plainly what the system currently thinks it is, so there is never any doubt about whether the operation took.

Both current desktop system generations are handled from the same window, and the utility works out which one it is looking at without being told. Edition detection covers the usual Home, Professional and Enterprise levels, and the window shows the detected edition before anything is applied so a mismatch is caught before it becomes a problem.

The program is portable in the strict sense. It runs from wherever it was unpacked, including a USB stick, writes nothing into the program folders, and leaves no scheduled task behind. For anyone rebuilding machines regularly, that is the whole appeal: it lives on the same stick as the system image and takes twenty seconds at the end of a build.

What it does

One window, one action
The whole interface is a status line and a button, with no configuration to work through.
Permanent digital method
State is written once and survives restarts and updates rather than reapplying on a timer.
Automatic system detection
Works out which desktop system generation and which edition it is looking at.
Portable operation
Runs from a folder or a USB stick and leaves nothing installed behind.
Clear status reporting
Current state is shown in plain language before and after the operation.
Tiny footprint
A few megabytes total, so it fits on the same stick as a system image.

Changed in this version

  • Detection updated for the current feature release of both desktop generations.
  • Status text rewritten to be clearer about what state the system is in.
  • Fixed a display scaling issue on high density screens.
  • Faster startup on machines with slow storage.
  • Interface language switch moved to the title bar.

System requirements

ProcessorAny 1 GHz or faster processor
Memory1 GB

PrivilegesAdministrator rights required to run
SystemWindows 10 or Windows 11

Install order

  1. Unpack the archive to a folder or a USB stick.
  2. Pause any resident protection, since utilities of this type are routinely flagged by heuristics.
  3. Run the program as administrator.
  4. Read the status line, apply the method, then restart the machine once.

Worth knowing before you start

Heuristic detection by resident protection is expected for tools in this category.

Nothing is installed, so removal is deleting the folder.
