About this release
KMSOffline is deliberately the smallest thing in its category. One window, a list of what it found installed, a button and a log pane. There is no menu tree to work through and no configuration to get wrong, which is exactly what is wanted on a machine that somebody else has to look after afterwards and on a job that only needs doing once.
It works entirely on the local machine. Nothing is contacted over the network, no service address is configured and no background component is left running, so it behaves the same on a machine with no connection as on one that is online. For technicians preparing machines in a workshop where the network is not set up yet, that is the difference between usable and not.
The detection pass is the useful part even when nothing is changed. It lists every installed system and suite component it recognises, states the current condition of each and writes it into the log, so a machine with a confusing state can be understood before anything is touched. The log copies straight out for a job sheet.
It is portable and leaves nothing behind. Unpack, run it with administrator rights, do the job, delete the folder. Server editions are recognised alongside the desktop ones, and the interface is small enough to run comfortably over a remote session on a machine that is not in front of you.
