About this release

The thing this does that the built in removal does not is batch. Tick twenty programs on a freshly delivered machine, start the run, and it works through all of them one after another, answering the routine prompts along the way and scanning for leftovers after each. On a new computer that arrived with a load of preinstalled software, that is fifteen minutes of ticking boxes instead of an afternoon of clicking through wizards.

Leftover scanning runs after each removal and finds the folders, registry entries, services and scheduled tasks the program's own uninstaller did not clear. A restore point is written before anything is removed, so a clean that turns out to have been too enthusiastic can be reversed. Stubborn programs that refuse to uninstall properly can be forced out, with their traces removed the same way.

It watches for the things that install themselves quietly. Bundleware that arrives attached to something else, browser extensions and toolbars added without a clear prompt, and programs that put themselves into startup are all surfaced with a warning, and the extension manager covers every installed browser from one list rather than making you visit each browser's own settings.

The Pro build adds the monitoring and automation. Installation monitoring records what a new install puts on the machine so the later removal is exact, real time detection warns when something adds itself to startup or to a browser, and an update checker lists which installed programs have a newer version available. Large unused programs and packaged applications are also listed so disk space can be reclaimed sensibly.

System requirements

Install order

1. Unpack the archive.
2. Run the installer with administrator rights and decline any offered extras.
3. Leave restore point creation enabled in settings.
4. Run a batch removal on a small group first to see how the leftover prompts behave.
