DriverPack Solution

Version 17.10.14-25060DriverPack26.3 GBOffline fullRefreshed 2 weeks ago

An offline driver set that gets a freshly installed machine fully working with no network at all.

About this release

The classic dead end after a clean Windows install is a machine with no network driver, which means no way to fetch a network driver. DriverPack Solution exists for exactly that: the entire driver collection travels with the program, so a disconnected machine can be scanned and brought to a fully working state without ever touching a connection.

It reads the hardware identifiers of everything attached, matches them against the offline collection and installs what is missing in one pass. Chipset, network, display, audio, storage controller, input, card reader and printer devices are all covered, along with a long tail of older hardware that manufacturer sites no longer host at all.

The age range is the quiet strength. Machines from several generations back, laptops whose manufacturer support pages have disappeared, and add in cards from vendors that no longer exist still resolve here because the collection kept the packages rather than retiring them. For anyone servicing older equipment that is the whole reason it stays on the stick.

It runs from removable media without installing itself, which suits the technician workflow it was built for. A restore point is created before any change, the install list can be reviewed and trimmed before it runs, and an expert mode shows exactly which package is going to each device rather than deciding silently.

What it does

Fully offline
The whole driver collection travels with the program, so no connection is needed at any point.
Identifier based matching
Reads hardware identifiers directly so unknown devices resolve to the correct package.
Very wide hardware coverage
Current devices plus older hardware whose manufacturer pages have long since gone.
Runs from removable media
No installation needed, which suits a technician working across many machines.
Expert mode
Review and trim the install list and see exactly which package goes to which device.
Restore point before changes
A rollback position is created automatically before anything is installed.

Changed in this version

  • Collection updated with recent chipset, network and display packages.
  • Faster scanning on machines with a large number of attached devices.
  • Expert mode reworked with clearer package version information.
  • Improved behaviour on the current Windows driver signing model.
  • Removed a number of superseded packages to reduce the overall size.

System requirements

ProcessorAny 1 GHz or faster processor
Memory1 GB minimum, 2 GB recommended
Disk30 GB free or a removable drive of that size
SystemWindows 7 or newer
PermissionsAdministrator rights to install drivers

Install order

  1. Unpack the archive to a removable drive with room for the whole collection.
  2. Run the program directly from that drive on the target machine.
  3. Use expert mode to review the proposed list before installing anything.
  4. Install in groups and restart after chipset and display changes.

Worth knowing before you start

The download is large because the entire collection is included, which is the point of it.

Install chipset drivers first, then restart, then the rest.
