About this release

CCleaner became the default housekeeping tool because it did one job clearly: find the temporary files, caches, logs and leftovers that accumulate on a Windows machine and remove them without touching anything that matters. The Plus bundle adds the companion tools that used to be sold on their own, so defragmentation, file recovery and hardware reporting arrive in the same install.

The cleaner itself covers the system and the applications separately. Browser caches, cookies, history and session data, Windows temporary folders, log files, thumbnail caches, memory dumps and installer leftovers all appear as a checklist with an analysis pass first, so nothing is deleted before you have seen what and how much. Exclusions keep the cookies and folders you want to survive a clean.

Beyond cleaning there is a startup manager that shows every entry actually launching with the machine including scheduled tasks and browser add ons, an uninstaller that lists what the control panel hides, a duplicate finder, a disk analyser that shows where the space has gone, and a wipe tool for free space and whole drives. The registry cleaner backs up before every change.

The professional side is mostly automation. Scheduled cleans, background monitoring that clears caches once they cross a size threshold, automatic updating of the cleaning definitions and a browser plug in monitor that flags when something new has installed itself. Once configured it can run without ever being opened again.

System requirements

Install order

1. Unpack the archive.
2. Run the installer and decline any bundled extras on the options screen.
3. Open the cleaner and run an analysis before the first clean so you can see the list.
4. Set exclusions for cookies and folders that should survive, then enable the schedule.
