CCleaner Professional

Version 6.41.11567Piriform84.6 MBProfessional, Technician and BusinessRefreshed 5 days ago

System cleanup, startup control and registry housekeeping across the Professional, Technician and Business editions.

About this release

Machines accumulate rubbish. Browser caches, thumbnail databases, crash dumps, installer leftovers, log files and temporary folders that nothing ever empties, and on a machine that has been in service for a few years that can easily run to tens of gigabytes. CCleaner finds all of it, shows you what it found before touching anything, and clears it in a pass that takes a minute.

The startup manager is the part that actually changes how a machine feels. Programs that install themselves into startup, scheduled tasks, browser extensions and context menu entries all appear in one list, and each can be disabled rather than deleted so a change is reversible. On a machine that takes four minutes to become usable after a login, this is usually where the four minutes went.

Registry housekeeping is handled conservatively. It scans for orphaned entries, missing references and broken file associations, shows what it proposes to remove, and offers to write a backup before it acts. That backup step is the difference between a maintenance tool and a gamble, and it restores in one click if something on the machine depended on an entry that looked dead.

The build carries the higher editions rather than the basic one. That means scheduled cleaning that runs on its own, real time monitoring that clears junk as it accumulates, automatic updating of the definitions, the portable technician build for service work on machines you do not own, and the multi machine handling that a small business deployment expects.

What it does

Junk file cleanup
Caches, temporary folders, logs and installer leftovers found and cleared in one pass.
Startup manager
Startup entries, scheduled tasks, extensions and context menu items disabled reversibly.
Registry check with backup
Orphaned entries removed only after a restorable backup is written.
Scheduled and monitored cleaning
Runs on a schedule or clears junk as it accumulates.
Portable technician build
Runs from a stick on a machine without installing anything.
Drive wiping
Free space overwritten so deleted files cannot be recovered from a disposed drive.

  3. Open the application and run an analysis pass before cleaning anything.

Worth knowing before you start

Always run the analysis pass first and read the list rather than cleaning blind.

Registry cleaning should be done with the backup option left enabled.
