Partition work is the kind of task where the tool matters, because the failure mode is losing a drive rather than losing an afternoon. This one queues operations rather than applying them immediately, so a whole sequence of resizes, moves and merges is planned in the interface, reviewed, and then committed in one pass with the ability to cancel anything before it starts.

The core operations cover everything a working drive needs. Resize and move partitions, merge two into one, split one into two, allocate free space from one partition to another directly, convert between the older and newer partition table styles without deleting anything, and change a partition between primary and logical. Alignment for solid state drives is handled automatically during any operation that rewrites layout.

Migration is the feature most people arrive for. The system migration wizard copies an installed Windows onto a different drive, resizing partitions to fit the destination and setting up the boot configuration so the new drive starts on its own. Moving a working machine from a spinning disk to a solid state drive is a single guided run rather than a reinstall.

The bootable environment covers the rest. Some operations cannot run against a live system drive, so the tool builds a bootable stick containing a small preinstallation environment with the same interface, which handles system partition work, recovery and drive wiping from outside Windows. This download carries the Professional, Technician, Unlimited and Server builds together, which differ in how many machines and what kind of systems they are licensed against.
