About this release
Backupper covers the whole span of the job, from a scheduled copy of one folder to a full image of a machine that can be put back onto different hardware. That range is why it ends up on workshop benches: the same tool clones a customer's drive to a bigger one in the morning and runs a nightly incremental of a server share in the evening, with one interface to remember.
Imaging is the core. A system image captures everything including the boot configuration, so recovery brings back a working machine rather than a pile of files that still needs an operating system installed under it. Incremental and differential schedules keep the space usage sensible on a machine that is imaged often, and images can be mounted as a drive letter to pull one file out without restoring the whole thing.
Cloning is the other half and it is what most people install it for. Disk to disk and partition to partition clones handle the move to a larger or faster drive, partitions are resized during the copy so the extra space is usable immediately rather than sitting unallocated, and intelligent cloning copies only the used sectors so a lightly filled large drive takes minutes rather than hours.
Restoring onto different hardware is where it earns its keep after a failure. The universal restore option injects the drivers a new machine needs during the restore, so an image taken from a dead board comes up on a replacement instead of stopping at a boot loop. The bundled bootable rescue environment on the same media means all of this works on a machine that will not start, which is when it is normally needed.

Install order
- Unpack the archive and run the installer with administrator rights.
- Choose the edition level that matches the machines you look after.
- Build the bootable rescue media before you need it, not after.
- Set the first schedule against an external target rather than the system drive.
Worth knowing before you start
A backup stored on the same drive it protects is not a backup, so point the target elsewhere.
Verify a restore once on spare hardware so the process is familiar before an emergency.
