About this release
Luminar Neo approaches editing from the other end. Instead of giving you a set of primitives and expecting you to assemble a look out of them, it gives you the look and lets you dial it back. A landscape that needs a stronger sky, a portrait that needs the light shaped differently, an interior with a badly balanced window: each of those is one control here rather than a mask, a curve and twenty minutes. For anyone who edits because they need the picture rather than because they enjoy editing, that trade is worth making.
The scene aware tools are what make it work. Sky replacement understands where the horizon is and relights the foreground to match rather than pasting a rectangle behind the trees. Portrait tools find the face and treat skin, eyes, lips and background separately without any masking. Atmosphere adds depth and haze at a chosen distance. Structure adds detail where there is detail to add and leaves flat areas alone, which is why it does not turn skies into noise the way a global clarity slider does.
Underneath the automation is a normal editor. Raw files develop with proper exposure, white balance, tone curve, colour mixing and lens correction, everything is non destructive so any change can be revisited later, layers and masks are available when a shot genuinely needs them, and local adjustments brush in by hand. The automatic pass is a starting point rather than a ceiling.
The catalogue keeps a library organised with folders, albums and ratings, and edits can be copied from one frame across a whole selection so a consistent set comes out of a shoot quickly. It runs standalone or as a plug in from a host editor, and exports to the usual formats with the colour profile intact.
What it does
- Scene aware sky replacement

- Full non destructive raw editing
- Exposure, white balance, curves, colour mixing and lens correction, all revisitable at any point.
- Batch edit sync
- Copy a developed look across a whole selection so a shoot comes out consistent.
