About this release
This is the design suite with the weight taken out. The vector drawing application and the pixel editor are both here in full working form, but the enormous bundled clipart collections, the stock template packs, the sample photo libraries and the optional companion tools have been left out. What remains installs in a fraction of the time and a fraction of the space, which is exactly what a shop machine or an older laptop needs.
Nothing has been removed from the drawing side itself. The pen and shape tools, node editing, the pathfinder operations, live effects, envelope and perspective distortion, contour and blend, and the whole appearance model behave as they always did. Multi page documents work, master layers work, and the precision placement and dimensioning tools that production work depends on are all present.
Colour and output handling are intact, which is the part that matters most for anyone whose files leave the building. Spot colours, global swatches, separation preview, overprint handling and press ready export are all where they should be, and the document colour profile is respected on open and on export rather than being guessed at.
The pixel editor covers the retouching and preparation work a design job needs without a trip to another application: layers, masks, adjustment curves, cloning, healing, and the resampling and sharpening controls for getting an image ready for print at a specific size. For a lot of studios this pairing is genuinely all the software the day requires.
