About this release
Media Encoder is the piece that keeps an edit suite moving. Sequences and compositions hand off to it from the editor and the compositor, and it renders them in a background queue while the creative applications stay free. On a machine where a long export used to block everything, that alone changes the working day.
The preset library covers broadcast, streaming, archive and proxy targets, and the presets are editable, so a facility can build its own delivery specification once and reuse it across every job. Multiple outputs can be attached to a single source, so one render pass produces the master, the review copy and the proxy set together.
Watch folders are the automation layer. Point one at a directory with a preset attached and anything dropped in is transcoded and written out without anyone touching the interface. For dailies, ingest and repeated conversion work this removes an entire manual step.
Format coverage is wide in both directions. It ingests camera formats and intermediate codecs and writes everything from broadcast masters to compressed review files, with correct colour handling and loudness normalisation applied on the way out.
