About this release
Audition is two applications sharing one window. The waveform editor works destructively on a single file, which is where restoration and repair happen, and the multitrack editor is a full session environment with buses, sends, automation and effect racks. Most work moves between them constantly, and a clip edited in one updates in the other without a save and reimport step.
Restoration is what Audition is best known for. The spectral frequency display draws sound as an image, so a cough, a chair squeak or a hum can be selected with a lasso and removed while everything around it stays untouched. The noise reduction, click removal and de reverb processors are strong enough that unusable location recordings often turn into broadcast quality dialogue in a few minutes.
The multitrack side handles the rest of a production. Podcasts, radio pieces, film dialogue premixes and sound design sessions all fit comfortably, with unlimited tracks, real time effect racks on every channel, bus routing, and automation that can be drawn or recorded live. Loudness matching applies broadcast and streaming targets across a whole session rather than clip by clip.
It also sits properly beside a video editor. A sequence hands off with the video reference intact, the session syncs to picture, and the finished mix goes back the same way. Batch processing covers the repetitive work of normalising, converting and topping and tailing a folder of files in a single pass.

Install order
- Unpack the archive to a folder without accents in the path.
- Close any other audio application that holds the sound device.
- Run the installer to completion.
- Open the application once and set the audio device and buffer size before recording.
Worth knowing before you start
Buffer size is the main thing to set before a recording session.
Session temporary files can grow quickly, so point them at a drive with room.
